What's On At Grande Provence

The new Heritage Spring Tasting Menu focuses on fresh local ingredients. With dishes such as Springbok loin with mielie pap chakalaka puree, honey and buchu jus, the menu is a collection of true South African heritage food. The menu is priced at R495 and R595 for three or four courses respectively without wines, or R780 and R880 paired with Grande Provence wines.

Summer picnics at Grande Provence are legendary and it is almost time for the start of their picnic season from October 2019 to April 2020. Packed to the brim with delicious artisanal foods, the Grande Country Picnic basket is pure indulgence for a family escape to the Franschhoek wine valley. The picnics are priced at R700 for two people sharing or R350 for a single basket. The cost per child under the age of 10 is R150 for the kiddie’s basket.

Explore a variety of wines paired with canapés during the new Heritage Experience which includes a walk down memory lane back to the origins of the estate and the Franschhoek area. The pairing offers four canapés to complement each of the Grande Provence wines at R170 per person.

The popular Angels Tears and nougat tasting has been rejuvenated with delicious new flavour combinations. Now you can enjoy these easy drinking wines with pistachio & apricot, passion fruit, smokey almond & raspberry and dark chocolate truffle nougat. The tasting pairs these handmade nougat delights with each of the four wines in the range, offered daily at the Grande Provence tasting room for R120 per person.

Another stylish spring experience pairs Méthode Cap Classique and three uniquely-dressed West Coast oysters. The MCC & Oyster tasting is served from the oyster bar under majestic oaks in the estate’s magnificent Sculpture Garden at R180 per person. 

Another spring addition are the new Heritage Breakfasts at The Bistro with mouth-watering options such as eggs benedict, omelettes, smoothies and granola bowls from 09h00 – 12h00 daily. For lunch you will be spoiled for choice with dishes such as hearty burgers, classic fish & chips, platters to share and freshly shucked oysters. The Bistro at Grande Provence is a relaxed alternative to more formal Franschhoek dining.
