Your stay includes full day Franschhoek Heritage tour centred on cultural treasures. The tour starts off with a visit to the local Groendal community, a crèche visit and a trip to Die Teesakkie, a local Restaurant in Groendal to enjoy morning or afternoon tea in Auntie Ruth’s garden with a slice of her famous carrot cake. Next you will head off to Solms-Delta wine estate to explore the slave heritage of the area. Some of the cultural highlights include visiting prominent Franschhoek landmarks such as the Huguenot Memorial Museum and Monument as well as the Mandela Statue at the Drakenstein Correctional Service.
To complete this unforgettable experience expect to be treated to pre-dinner oysters and Grande Provence Méthode Cap Classique, followed by a delectable four-course Heritage Tasting dinner paired with Grande Provence flagship wines. The menu offers a wide selection of fresh, local ingredients expertly prepared with Chef Marvin Robyn’s own twist on South African heirloom recipes. Whether you are a connoisseur or just love a good wine and would like to experience how it is made, the Wine Enthusiast package is perfect for you. Relish in a three-night stay at the Owner’s Cottage with a bottle of Grande Provence wine, coffee and handmade nougat awaiting your arrival.
Wine lovers embark on a private cellar tour and a wine blending session with the winemaker sharing some of his secrets. To complete this unforgettable sensory experience, a three-course à la carte lunch is followed by an Angels Tears wine and nougat pairing. Dinner promises a more serious wine experience with a four-course flagship wine pairing menu and A Taste of Grande Provence, the ultimate wine and canapé pairing.
Your stay includes a half day guided winelands tour visiting three wine farms of your choice within the Franschhoek Valley. The tours includes a wine guide, transport and selected wine tastings.
This package also includes two tickets for the hop-on, hop-off Franschhoek Wine Tram for a leisurely tour of some of the valley’s finest vineyards. For the cherry on top, you can take home a bottle of the flagship wine, The Grande Provence, to remind you of your stay.
